Do I need to see my GP before physiotherapy?

In most parts of England, Wales and Scotland you can now self-refer directly to NHS MSK physiotherapy — no GP appointment needed. This is faster and doesn't cost your GP an appointment slot. Search 'NHS physiotherapy self referral [your area]' — the online form takes ~10 minutes. If self-referral isn't available in your area, or you have red-flag symptoms (numbness, loss of bladder control, unexplained weight loss), see your GP first.
