Does glucosamine or turmeric work better for arthritis?

The evidence for both is mixed. Glucosamine (with chondroitin) has modest benefit for some people with knee OA over 6+ months of use, but many trials show no effect. Turmeric (curcumin) shows more consistent anti-inflammatory effect in trials, with fewer safety concerns for most people. Neither is a substitute for exercise, weight management or prescribed medication.
